Driveways, Patios and Paving in Erith

Gravel gives a different finish from a solid paved driveway. There are several stone colours and sizes to compare.

It can also be used alongside a paved path, so you have a firm route between the car and the front door.

The edge needs to hold the gravel in place. We will look at the slope and how the area will be used before advising on the construction.

Loose stone can move under wheels and feet, so allow for some raking and occasional topping up.

Water must be able to drain through the whole build-up, not just the layer of stone on top. The ground beneath still needs checking.

Would you like a patio where you can put a table and chairs? Or do you want to replace slabs that are loose and uneven?

They are held in the mix rather than left loose as gravel would be.

Have a look at the aggregate colours before deciding. If you already have a driveway, we need to see whether its base can be used.

We cannot promise an overlay without checking it. Cracks, movement and the finished height can all affect that decision.

A permeable resin system needs suitable construction below the surface too. We will look at how it will drain and what will be using it.

It still needs cleaning, including removing leaves and dirt. Let us know if it is mainly a path or if vehicles will be driving over it.

We lay tarmac driveways, paths and parking areas for homes and commercial properties. A contrasting block edge can be included if you want a border around the tarmac.

We can look at that and the shape of the entrance during the survey.

Let us know how the area is used and what vehicles will use it. We need to allow for the load, the base and where rainwater will go.

Conventional tarmac does not let water soak through the surface, so drainage has to be part of the plan.

We will discuss the programme after seeing the job. Preparation may take longer than laying the finish, and you may need to wait before parking on it.
