There is more to choosing paving than picking a colour from a photograph. We can discuss the finish, the slab sizes and the care the material will need. Look at samples beside the house, where the brickwork and light can change how they appear.

Outdoor porcelain offers consistent colours and stone-effect finishes. It can work well with a simple layout and broad steps. The surface is straightforward to clean, although it still needs routine care. We will discuss an outdoor product and a suitable finish for the position of your patio, especially where it is shaded or likely to get wet.
Natural stone patios
Sandstone has differences in shade and texture from slab to slab. That variation is part of its appearance, rather than something to hide. A selection of samples gives a better impression than one piece. Mixed-size paving and more regular layouts are both options to consider.
Paths, borders and edging

Patio contractors for preparation and laying
Our team handles the groundwork as well as laying the paving. During the survey we assess the existing surface, the base beneath it and the height of the finished patio beside the house.
The job may include taking up old slabs, removing waste and excavating for a new base. We also look at where rainwater will go. If the old surface has sunk or holds puddles, we need to understand the cause before covering the area again.
The bedding and jointing must suit the chosen paving. For porcelain laid on mortar, a compatible primer bonds the slab to the bed; it does not replace the need for full support. Cuts, edges and the layout around drains are planned as part of the installation.
Steps and changes in level
We can include steps where the garden slopes. Larger changes may need retaining work and additional design advice. We will discuss the levels on site rather than assume that the whole garden should become one flat surface.

Can you lay over the existing patio?
We need to check the base and the finished height first. Covering paving that is moving or has drainage problems may carry those problems into the new surface. Removing it can be the better option.
Our garden has a narrow entrance. Can you still quote?
Yes. Send a picture of the route into the garden, including steps or shared access. It affects how we bring materials in and take waste out, and we allow for that when planning the work.
How long does a new patio take?
We discuss the likely programme after the survey. The preparation, size and complexity all matter. Weather and the requirements of bedding or jointing products can affect progress, so we also explain any restrictions on using the area.
When can we put furniture back?
The waiting time depends on the products used and the conditions while they cure. We will explain this at handover, together with cleaning and aftercare for your chosen paving.
Can you keep part of our garden as it is?
Yes. Tell us which planting, paths or paved areas you want to retain when we visit. We can discuss how the new patio will meet those features and what needs protecting during the work.
